Especially those I grew really close to. Like suddenly, we don’t talk anymore. We don’t even know what’s going on in each other’s lives. I used to know what you ate for breakfast, now I can’t even remember the last time we talked. It just sucks to think about somebody and realize that you don’t even know them anymore.
Her pearly face fixed on the reflection of the mirror, lips painted red, cheeks rosy pink, and eyes squalid.
“Am I pretty enough?”
Outstretched in front of her were rows after rows of make-up, human-kind’s very own mask. Her eyes darted from the mirror back to the table.
“Am I pretty yet?”
Raunchy hair, undone and pulled to the side. Her slender fingers writhed towards the sterling silver brush — she reached far and picked it up. She ran it through her mane that grew past her shoulders, light as almond-brown, textured like horsehair.
In the beginning Katniss only wanted to save Prim but in the end, she was killed. Peeta wanted to stay himself but he was hijacked. Gale didn't want to lose Katniss but she ended up with Peeta. They all lost what they wanted most but it makes the book more believable knowing that all endings aren't happy.
